344 Damascus Drive Recent upgrades, moderate rent boosts interest in Summerville cottage
Price, convenience and new appearances are prime factors that tenants closely consider in leasing properties.
Not just one of those perks, but all three, are found at 344 Damascus Drive. The one-story home is in the Kensington Park neighborhood of Dorchester County.
In the past week, the 1,350-square-foot house became available for lease at $950 a month. The lease is for a year.
“It has been recently renovated,” says Kelly B. Moore, the property owner who is handling the rental.
While moderate sized square-footage-wise, 344 Damascus has quite a lot of room inside. There are three bedrooms and two full baths, as well as living room, dining room and kitchen. Moore says the vinyl-sided house has a “large, open plan.”
The house’s surroundings are also fairly roomy. The lot is about .15 acre and includes a tidy front lawn. The back yard is fenced-in. “There’s nothing behind you,” he says.
Moore believes the house would be a practical choice for a couple or a small family. With the protection of a fence in back, the property is “good for kids,” he says.
Kensington Park is “a small little neighborhood” built not far from schools, including Summerville High less than a mile to the east.
Moore says the house is unfurnished. It is available for rent by non-smokers only.
The house is in “a good location, close to schools, close to shopping,” Moore says.
The property is on the western edge of Summerville. From Interstate 26 heading west, take exit 199A for Main Street. Follow Main Street (U.S. Highway 17A) through town, where it runs into Boone Hill Road.
Follow Boone Hill for about three miles and bear right on Tupperway Drive. Turn left onto Old Orangeburg Road and immediately take a right on Damascus Drive. Ahead is 344 Damascus.
