The ninth annual St. Paddy's Day Block Party & Parade will be celebrated from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Olde Village of North Charleston on East Montague Avenue, between Virginia and Jenkins avenues near Park Circle.
The free bash will feature two stages with live music, jump castles, the North Charleston Cultural Arts Department family stage, bagpipe music, corned beef and cabbage, a DJ, Irish trivia and more.
Kicking off the event will be a parade starting at noon at Park Place East, adjacent to East Montague Avenue. The parade route will go down East Montague Avenue to the block party location near Virginia Avenue.
The parade grand marshal will be North Charleston City Councilman Todd Olds.
East Montague Avenue will close from Park Place East to O'Hear Avenue at 11:30 a.m. and remain closed for the duration of the parade.
East Montague also will close between Virginia Avenue and Jenkins Avenue at 10 a.m. and stay closed for the duration of the block party.
