Water main break disrupts service in Folly Beach
More than 20 homes are without water service, and 6th Street East at East Ashley Avenue is closed, after a water main break on Folly Beach.
Repairs are under way, and the line will, hopefully, be working again by 6 p.m., Folly Beach Building Official Eric Lutz said.
He said the line broke this afternoon when it was struck by a backhoe operated by a contractor for a storm drainage project. The road, he said, will remain closed until about 4 p.m. Tuesday to accommodate the work.
