CLEMSON – The Clemson compliance office is reviewing a promotional flier featuring Clemson linebacker Justin Parker and defensive back Darius Robinson, the Island Packet reported Thursday.

NCAA rules prohibit employing an athlete’s name or likeness to promote a commercial interest. Parker told the Island Packet he was unaware of the rule. The flier was promoting a party at Beaufort’s Club Encore on March 3, Parker’s birthday.

This is the second time in three months Clemson has dealt with a party flier issue involving one of its players.

Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins appeared on a party flier in December but was eligible to play in the Orange Bowl after Clemson’s compliance office issued a cease-and-desist order to a Florida-area promoter who created the flier.
