Two Charleston-based cruise passengers who tried to bring more than $400,000 of marijuana into Bermuda were each sentenced to six years in jail, according to a report from The Royal Gazette newspaper in Bermuda.

Authorities arrested Alloah J. Releford, 24, from Temple, Ga., and Latoya N. Powell, 27, from Marietta, Ga., on Oct. 8 after the pair tried to bring 2.7 kilograms of drugs onboard the Carnival Fantasy, the newspaper reported.

The Gazette reported that Releford and Powell admitted to the crime.
