Here's an idea for a family outing: a free trip to the art museum.

Families can enjoy the Gibbes Museum of Art for free from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 25, the museum announced today.

Children can enjoy face painting and other hands-on activities.

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet will present Musical Olympics in the rotunda from 11 to 11:30 a.m. The Charleston Argentine Tango Society will perform on the front steps from noon to 1 p.m.

Art exhibitions include "The Art of Alfred Hutty: Woodstock to Charleston," "Jill Hooper: Contemporary Realist" and "The Charleston Story."

The free Community Days are held quarterly and are sponsored by Roper St. Francis Healthcare.

The museum is at 135 Meeting St., and can be reached at 722-2706.
