Library launches new website
There's a new way to help the Charleston County Public Library serve readers, and it's by buying books online.
Augmenting its annual live book sales, the Charleston Friends of the Library has announced a new website complete with listings of inexpensive books, CDs and DVDs.
"More and more friends groups are selling their books online in order to find a larger audience for their specialized items," says Emily Everett, director of the Library Friends. "The Friends will maintain an online storefront with an ever-changing selection of new and used books available for sale."
Items are searchable by title, author name, keyword and several different categories.
Proceeds go to benefit library services, equipment purchases, training and public programming.
