The Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce is accepting entries for its 10th annual Artist Showcase, slated for May 25-26 at the Sea Island Best Western, 1015 Bay St. in downtown Beaufort.

Artists must submit their application by April 1 to secure one of the 20 available exhibit spaces.

The event is open to local and visiting exhibitors presenting original works in a range of media. Categories include paintings, folk art, basket weaving and mixed media. The show is free to the public. Artists and their representatives will be available to discuss their work, all of which will be for sale.

The objective of the showcase is to "promote the arts as a viable and important economic contribution to life in the Lowcountry" and to support emerging and professional artists.

A free reception will be held 5-7 p.m. May 25 featuring a performance by recording artist Mahoganee.

Those interested may obtain an application at the chamber office or via email at BeaufortBlack@gmail.com". For more information, visit http://bcbcc.org.
