CLEMSON - Clemson football will be forced to make changes in its 2014 non-conference schedule after the Atlantic Coast Conference announced last week it will expand the conference schedule from eight to nine games when Syracuse and Pittsburgh enter the league.

Expanding the conference means shrinking the non-conference schedule, which will go from four to three games. Clemson has four non-conference opponents scheduled for 2014: Georgia (the game is part of a much anticipated home-and-home series beginning at Georgia in 2013), Coastal Carolina, Central Michigan and South Carolina.

Clemson assistant AD Kyle Young said the program is waiting to see when Syracuse and Pittsburgh are admitted before officially making any decisions but Young noted conversations have begun about adapting the schedule.

"Certainly we are going to have to figure something out as we go forward," Young said. "We have started to look at different scenarios and started to touch base with different schools."
