Food truck hoedown to be held Saturday on Johns Island

Nine food trucks and a big bonfire are coming to Johns Island on Saturday for the island's first "Hoedown."

The lot of All Seasons Mulch at 1620 River Road, behind the CVS pharmacy at Maybank Highway, will be the scene from 1 to 7 p.m.

Bring chairs to stay and listen to live music.

Strada Cocina, Pot Kettle Black, Geechee Island, Tokyo Crepes, Zahh Pizza, Jack's Cosmic Dogs, King of Pops, Taco Boy and Local Market Coffee Bar will offer food and drinks for sale.

In addition to food, beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Things for the kids include a jump castle, pony rides and cotton candy.

The event is sponsored by All Seasons Mulch, A Snappy Event, New Moon Pizzeria, Mix Premier Bartending, W-EZL, Southcoast Bank, Always Blazing Firewood, Budweiser and Sam Adams.
