Stackley named SC coach for Shrine Bowl
Stratford High School football coach Ray Stackley has been named the head coach of the South Carolina team for the 76th annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, which will be held Dec. 15 at Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg.
The Shrine Bowl is the oldest high school football all-star game in the country.
His staff will include Kirk Burnett, Airport; Wade Cooper, Blue Ridge; Don Frost, Christ Church; Mike Wells Buford; Bill Harvey Newberry and Tony Smith, Stratford.
Nelson Smith of Garner will be the North Carolina head coach.
His staff includes Adrian Snow, West Forsyth; Russell Stone, Douglas Byrd; Doug Illing, Davie County; B.J. Lancaster, Hendersonville; Mike Byus, East Lincoln and David Grant, Walter Williams.
