Art Institute seeks top photographer
Are you the next great (visual) storyteller?
If so, the Art Institutes 2012 Storytellers Photography Contest wants you.
The Art Institute of Charleston invites photographers to submit six original photographs that "tell a visual story and showcase your creativity and unique point of view."
The competition offers separate categories for high school seniors graduating in 2012 and high school graduates. The grand-prize winner in the high school senior category will earn a tuition scholarship of up to $40,000, while the grand prize winner in the high school graduate category will receive a $10,000 scholarship to one of 39 participating Art Institutes across the United States.
Photos must be accompanied by a 500- to 800-word artist statement describing the entry and a high school transcript or proof of high school graduation demonstrating a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Deadline for entries is March 2. For complete entry details, visit http://artinstitutes.edu/photocompetition or call 727-3500.
Submissions are judged first at the local level, with one finalist from each participating school advancing to the national stage.
