Theresa, 45, recently lost her sight due to a stroke and is unable to continue working to support herself and her 7-year-old daughter.
She has applied for disability but has been denied. Theresa is appealing the ruling.
In the meantime, her daughter needed clothes for school, and a Good Cheer Fund agency stepped up to provide the necessary supplies and clothing for the child.
Other bills are starting to pile up, however, and Theresa will need more assistance to get through the holidays.
Your donation can help this mother and daughter make it through these dark days until they can find a way to get back on their feet.
Donations to The Post and Courier’s Good Cheer Fund have helped the less fortunate in the Lowcountry since 1927. The six charitable organizations sharing the funds collected are the Lowcountry Food Bank, Salvation Army, Star Gospel Mission, Association for the Blind, Catholic Charities and Carolina Youth Development Center. There are no administrative costs involved, and every cent of the money raised goes directly to the agencies.
Send tax-deductible contributions to the Good Cheer Fund, c/o The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403-4800. Donations also may be made in person or online at www.goodcheerfund.com.
In order to be listed in the paper by Christmas Day, contributions must be received in our office by noon on Wednesday.
