WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Furman 60, College of Charleston 51

Despite a school-record 15 blocks and 12 steals, the Cougars dropped their Southern Conference opener on Saturday at TD Arena.

Junior Latisha Harris provided a lot of energy for the Cougars, leading the team with 14 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks. The seven blocks are the second most in school history for a single-game.

C of C (1-5, 0-1) also got a big game from freshman Christy Hewat, who posted eight points, three rebounds and three blocked shots. Furman improved to 4-2, 1-0.

The Cougars have a quick turnaround as they host Wofford on Monday at 7 p.m.
