New Ken Burger book celebrates South
On Friday, Evening Post Books will publish "Baptized in Sweet Tea: A Collection of Ken Burger's Columns Celebrating the South" by the award-winning former Post and Courier writer.
Burger, who has turned his talents to fiction in recent years, may have bid adieu to the newspaper world in July, but "Baptized in Sweet Tea" celebrates "all that he loves about South Carolina" and commemorated in his columns. The book is augmented by color photographs that capture Southern culture.
Copies are $21.95 and will be available online at www.eveningpostbooks.com; at The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St.; and in local bookstores.
The author will be on hand for a book signing 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Morris Nissan, 1714 Savannah Highway.
Burger's two novels, "Swallow Savannah" and "Sister Santee," both were published by Evening Post Books.
