Mount Pleasant-based Skinny Cocktail Co. , which makes low-calorie Scales cocktail mixers, recently landed a contract to put its products on the shelves of Kroger Grocery Stores, company co-owner Stephanie Meadows said.

Starting Friday, Scales Margarita Mix and Scales Bloody Mary Mix will be in stores in Georgia; Dallas and Houston, Texas; and Columbus, Ohio, before going to other stores.

Locally, Bi-Lo, Harris Teeter, Piggly Wiggly, Total Wine & More, and some bars and restaurants carry the products. They are sold in those stores and others in 16 states and two islands.

Clothes line

Danielle's Closet, a new and recycled clothing and accessories store, has leased a 1,200-square-foot space at 890 Bacons Bridge Road in Palm Village in Summerville, according to Kim Hinshaw with Anchor Commercial/CORFAC International.

Second use

Black Swan Emporium, an elegant estate furnishings shop, recently opened in the Shops of Mount Pleasant at 320 Coleman Blvd. Operated by Mary Margaret McLernon, the gently used furnishing shop is open Tuesday through Friday with limited hours on Saturday.

Hats off

The Hat Ladies of Charleston Semi-Annual Gently Used Hat Sale is set from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Consigning Women at 21 Magnolia Road in Avondale in West Ashley. A portion of the proceeds go to charity.

Street scene

Second Sunday on King Street, when the peninsula's bustling commercial artery is closed between Queen and Calhoun streets from 1 to 5 p.m. to allow outside shopping, dining and cultural events, will conclude with a free concert hosted by the city at 5 p.m. in Marion Square to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. Stepping up

On the 75th anniversary of the Bass Weejuns penny loafer, Bass marketer PVH Corp. is teaming up with Soles4Souls to collect used penny loafers to donate to underprivileged communities.

People can drop off the gently worn Bass Weejuns at select Bass stores throughout the U.S. through Sept. 30, but the local outlet store at Tanger Outlet Center in North Charleston is not participating, an employee said. Shoes will be accepted at the Allen Edmonds store at Tanger, but it is not offering any special promotion.
