R'Dogs fall to Tourists
The Asheville Tourists scored three times in the third inning and held on to beat the Charleston RiverDogs, 3-1, in South Atlantic League baseball Saturday night at Riley Park.
Cristhian Adames tripled in a pair of runs and scored on former Clemson standout Kyle Parker's RBI single in the third for Asheville (38-30, 69-68).
The RiverDogs (27-41, 53-85) scored their only run on a bases-loaded walk by Ramon Flores with two outs in the bottom of the inning.
Juan Gonzalez (3-7) got the win in relief, while Charleston starter Manny Barreda (4-3) took the loss. RiverDogs reliever Michael Recchia allowed just one hit in five scoreless innings of relief, striking out three.
With two games left in the season, the teams play again at 5 p.m. today on Family Sunday, as kids 12 and under eat free.
