Celebrate Labor Day weekend with wine, beer and Lowcountry food while raising money for the Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic during the fifth annual Lowcountry Wine and Beer Festival at Freshfields Village.

On Sept. 4, guests can sample more than 20 wines from around the globe, craft beers and a Lowcountry buffet from Hege's Restaurant on the Village Green 4-7 p.m. The event also includes auction items such as an African safari and an oceanfront condo vacation on Seabrook Island.

All proceeds will support the clinic, which provides free medical care to those in need on Johns, James and Wadmalaw islands.

Tickets are $35 in advance at various ticket locations, or $40 at the gate. Junior tickets (ages 10-20) are available for $20, and children under 10 are free. Advance-sale ticketholders also will be entered in a drawing to win a $150 gift certificate to any U.S. restaurant of their choice.

Tickets may be purchased at Hyams Garden and Accent Store, Paul's Hairstyling on James Island, the UPS Store and Schoen Ace Hardware on Johns Island, guest services, Indigo Books and the kiosk at the Freshfields Green (one week prior to event only), Seabrook Island Real Estate and Kiawah Island Town Hall.
