Several Verizon Wireless stores across the Lowcountry are collecting new school supplies to donate to local organizations serving underprivileged and low-income youth as they head back to school soon.

Through Monday, customers can drop off pencils, magic markers, colored pencils, plastic rulers, spiral notebooks, crayons, glue sticks, white glue, dry erase markers, pocket folders, construction paper, pencil bags, erasers, index cards and children’s scissors at stores at 5070 International Blvd. and 7351 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston, at 481 N. Highway 52 in Moncks Corner, 1117-A Market Center Blvd. in Mount Pleasant, 2031 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in West Ashley, 121 Angus St. in Summerville and 846 Bells Highways in Walterboro.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry and Communities in Schools will distribute the donations.
