Hotline opens for back- to-school questions

Charleston County School District has set up a hotline that will be open starting today for any parents' back-to-school questions.

The hotline will be open from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. today, Friday and Monday through Wednesday of next week. The number is 937-6366.

Parents are encouraged to call with questions about transportation, registration, lunches or transfers. Parents also can visit the district's Web site.

School starts in Charleston and Berkeley counties on Tuesday, and in Dorchester County on Monday.
