Blood drive today in North Charleston
Palmetto Primary Care Physicians will host a blood drive 1-6 p.m. today at 2550 Elms Center Drive in North Charleston.
The Red Cross bloodmobile will be parked behind Atlanta Bread Company.
Donors will receive Chick-fil-A coupons and be entered for a drawing to win two pairs of round-trip Delta Air Lines tickets.

Free skin cancer screening at Trident
Trident Health System will offer free skin cancer screening 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 31 on the first floor of Trident Medical Center, 9330 Medical Plaza Drive in North Charleston.
To sign up for free screening, call 797-FIND (3463). Walk-ins are welcome, but those with appointments will be seen first.
MUSC students get state award for clinic
A Medical University of South Carolina student-run free clinic won a 2011 Governor's Volunteer Award.
The Community Aid, Relief, Education and Support Clinic (CARES), run by first- and second-year medical students and Dr. Wanda Gonsalves of MUSC's department of family medicine, provides preventive and primary care to uninsured patients.
Students are responsible for managing the Mount Pleasant clinic and for its daily operations.
Gov. Nikki Haley and the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration presented the award.
The clinic is at 1145 Six Mile Road across from Laing Middle School. It is open 6:30-9 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Visit www.thecaresclinic.org.
