Anthony Heyward, 17, is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, said Charles Francis, spokesman for the Charleston Police Department. Heyward and another suspect allegedly robbed a man Friday night as he was walking to his apartment in the Cypress Cove Apartments at 3950 Mary Adler Avenue.
The man called police and said two men had robbed him and fled the scene on foot, Francis said. Officers arrived on scene and established a perimeter. They apprehended Heyward. The other suspect was not apprehended, but police are in the process of identifying him.
