Family Circle fans find a new favorite

Caroline Wozniacki is quickly becoming the Family Circle Cup crowd favorite now that Patty Schnyder has played in her final tournament on Daniel Island.

Wozniacki defeated Yanina Wickmayer, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, in a quarterfinal on Friday, and is counting on a good meal and good rest to help her today. She's also hoping to have the crowd in her corner -- again.

"This amazing crowd that I've had this week, I mean it's unbelievable everyone is cheering for me and it's such a great feeling coming back here," Wozniacki said. "I feel like a local, really.

"You know, it's fantastic, so who wouldn't want to play out there on the stadium in my position."

Wickmayer also acknowledged Wozniacki's popularity is growing.

"Well, I guess she's the No. 1 player, and I think she's a girl that everyone likes," Wickmayer said. "The crowd was very good, even if it was on her side. I really enjoyed playing on center court with a lot of people."

Game, Set, Rock! Tennis Amplified

"Game, Set, Rock! Tennis Amplified" is back for its second year and has a great foursome, including John McEnroe, who played in the event last year.

The event will feature singles and mixed doubles and is set for 7:30 p.m. today on Stadium Court. It also includes women's tennis legends Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert, and former men's tour player Todd Martin.

Evert went 50-3 in Family Circle Cup play at Hilton Head and won eight titles while building the tournament into one of the WTA's most prestigious events.

Navratilova won four Family Circle Cup titles, capping her 36-9 record with a win over Jennifer Capriati in the 1990 final.

McEnroe won four U.S. Open titles and three Wimbledon titles during his career.
