The Legare Farms Education Foundation is hosting the 7th annual Battle of Charleston this weekend.
The event will be held at Legare Farms on Johns Island, and will include a re-enacted Civil War battle on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
The farm basically goes back in time for the weekend, and offers a glimpse of what life was like here in the mid-19th century. On the farm, civilian and soldiers’ camps will be set up, and artisans will demonstrate various 19th century crafts. A ladies social will be held on Saturday and a period church service at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. For more information, go to www.battleofchas.com.
