Toys for Tots is now taking applications from families hoping to receive toys for their children this holiday season.
This year's "Toy Factory" is near Dillard's at Citadel Mall.
Sign-ups will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 13.
Applicants need to bring their own picture identification, Social Security card, and birth certificates/Social Security cards for all children applying. Proof of residence and two phone numbers also are required.
Children to age 15 may be signed up to receive toys.
Any organizations wishing to apply needs to bring identification, the organization's tax ID number and/or charter for the organization and address, and a list of recipient children by age and sex.
Run by volunteers from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Charleston, the local Toys for Tots program has been helping families in the area for more than 50 years. All donations collected in this area stay here.
