A man with long black hair or a wig robbed a North Charleston credit union Thursday morning.
The man entered the S.C. State Credit Union at 6750 Rivers Ave. at 9:40 a.m. and pointed a black handgun at employees.
He ran out with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen running behind a nearby business, according to North Charleston police Capt. Scott Deckard.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6-foot-1, between 25 and 35 years old. He wore a long-sleeve gray shirt and khaki pants and had either long hair or a wig, Deckard said.
North Charleston police surrounded the bank while a helicopter searched from the air. A dog team from the Berkeley County sheriff’s office tracked the suspect behind a nearby business before the trail ran cold.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
