AWENDAW -- LSU, led by Sang Yi's 2-under-par 69, grabbed the first-round lead in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate tournament Sunday. The Tigers are at 4-over-par 288, one shot ahead of Duke and two shots ahead of Wake Forest.
Clemson is sixth at 10-over 294, while South Carolina is eighth at 296 and College of Charleston is 15th at 314.
N.C. State sophomore Matt Hill is the individual leader at 3-under 68, a shot ahead of Yi Wake Forest's Travis Wadkins. Clemson's Jacob Burger, Duke's Spencer Anderson and Auburn's Will McCurdy are another shot back at 70.
The tournament continues through Tuesday.
