Woman killed in head-on crash
HANAHAN -- A North Charleston woman was killed Tuesday when a car she was driving was in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Sybil Alston, 71, was driving a sedan on Railroad Avenue about 2:40 p.m. when she collided with another vehicle, Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Salisbury said. She was taken to Medical University Hospital, where she died from injuries suffered in the wreck, Salisbury said.
Information about the other driver was unavailable. Alston was wearing a seat belt, Salisbury said.
The collision is being investigated by the Hanahan Police Department and the Coroner's Office.
