Julia Nigro has joined Jarrard Nowell & Russell LLC in Charleston as a staff accountant. She has a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Charleston Southern University.
Architecture
Katherine Lynn Dixon has joined the architecture staff at GJS Architects LLC in Mount Pleasant. She has a bachelor's degree in industrial design from the Rhode Island School of Design and is pursuing a master's degree in architecture from Clemson University. She has more than five years of design experience.
Building supplies
Gloria J. Howard has rejoined Buck Lumber and Building Supply Inc. as an inside sales coordinator. She has 37 years of experience in the building supply industry.
Education
Steve Nida has been named associate provost for graduate and professional education and dean of The Citadel Graduate College. He has been a professor of psychology and head of the psychology department at The Citadel since 2002.
He succeeds Ray Jones, who now teaches in the School of Business Administration. Nida has a bachelor's degree from King College, a master's degree from Wake Forest University, and a doctorate in social psychology from The Ohio State University.
Also, Mark Bebensee of The Citadel School of Business Administration has been named associate provost for academic affairs. He succeeds Isaac "Spike" Metts, who returns to teaching in the mathematics department. Bebensee has been with The Citadel since 1977.
He has a bachelor's degree in economics and math from Millsaps College and a master's degree and doctorate in economics from Duke University.
Engineering
Kenneth Siegman has been named vice president of the engineering services group at Life Cycle Engineering. He has more than 40 years of experience in military and commercial marine engineering and management. Previously he was a senior vice president at Alion Science and Technology. He has a bachelor's degree in marine engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a master's degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans.
Maegen W. Stokes has joined the Charleston office of Kestrel Horizons LLC as a process engineer. She has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and has experience in the chemical, energy, and pulp and paper industries. Previously, she was with Ford Bacon & Davis LLC in Greenville.
Health care
Louis Caputo has been named chief executive officer of Summerville Medical Center, effective Aug. 3. He has been with the medical center's parent health system, HCA Inc., since 2001. Most recently he was as chief operating officer at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Fla. He has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of the South and a master's degree in business administration from Belmont University.
William "Bill" Stephens has joined the Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston as a physician assistant. He has more than 10 years of dermatology experience.
He has a bachelor's degree in education from The Citadel and a degree from the Medical University of South Carolina's physician assistant program. He also has a master's degree in physician assistant studies from the Medical College of Nebraska. He is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Marketing
Haley Warden has joined the Internet marketing firm Visiture LLC in Charleston as search-engine marketing manager. Previously, she was a strategist with Google Inc. in Mountain View, Calif. She has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in East Asian studies from Yale University.
Pharmacy
Sara Perry and Paige Biggers have joined Delta Pharmacy & Medical Supply as pharmacists at the company's store at 320 East Bay St., Charleston. Perry is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina and previously worked in MUSC's family medicine department. Biggers also has a degree from MUSC and has more than 21 years of retail pharmacy experience.
Real estate
Tim Haas has joined Lennar Corp.'s coastal Carolina division as a new home consultant for the builder's Wentworth Hall community in Summerville. He has a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Pittsburgh.
Patricia Fuchs, Mark Fuchs and Paul Brown have joined Dunes Properties as agents working primarily out of the firm's Isle of Palms office and specializing in all areas east of the Cooper. Previously, the Fuchs were with Keller Williams, and Brown was with Century 21 Properties Plus.

Scott McVay has joined WillStaff Worldwide as sales manager of the firm's Charleston office. He has 10 years of staffing industry experience. He studied economics at the University of Connecticut.
Technology
Adria Payoute, Andrea Belcher and Laurie Boback have joined Benefitfocus in the software firm's Charleston office. Payoute is a benefits administrator; Belcher is a graphic designer; and Boback is a business analyst.
