Man arrested in e-mail threat case
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The FBI has arrested an Alexandria man on charges that he sent e-mails threatening to kill white judges in South Carolina.
Fifty-one-year-old Stephen Rosenberg was arrested Wednesday at his home. He was indicted on July 7 by a federal grand jury in Columbia.
The indictment states that Rosenberg appeared before a federal judge in South Carolina in May in a civil suit Rosenberg has against the United States. Authorities say since then, Rosenberg has sent e-mails to the same judge, including an e-mail that threatened to kill white judges in South Carolina.
The indictment also states that Rosenberg sent an e-mail intended to influence or intimidate the judge regarding his civil case.
