Berkeley County sheriff's deputies on Wednesday arrested a pair of brothers accused of shooting a man in the Pineville community the night before.
Gary Duane Lloyd, 38, of Pineville was shot in the yard in front of a house on McGuffy Court at about 7 p.m., sheriff's Capt. Rick Ollic said. Lloyd was rushed to a local hospital. He was listed in critical condition Tuesday, Ollic said.
Warrants charge Adrian White, 22, and Jason White, 28, both of 723 Root Branch Road in Pineville with assault and battery with intent to kill in connection with the shooting.
Both men were being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner awaiting a bail hearing.
Ollic said the shooting occurred during an argument, but he declined to say what the argument was about. He said the house where the shooting occurred is a place where people in the rural Berkeley County community frequently meet.
