A man on a mountain bike robbed the Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union, 2030 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Thursday morning, taking an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police responded at 10:55 a.m. Thursday to the West Ashley bank.
A black male between 5 feet, 9 inches, and 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with dreadlocks and a bandage on his chin that appeared to be bloody, passed a note to a teller at the bank demanding money. The suspect did not present a weapon.
According to reports, the suspect was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with blue writing on the back and wore work-type pants.
The Heritage Trust bank is about a half-mile from a branch of the Tidelands Bank that was robbed March 19. There are some similarities between the two robberies, but police can't say for certain at this time that they are related, according to Charleston Police Department Public Information Officer Charles Francis.
