The story of Al Parish, the former Charleston Southern University economics professor and investment advisor, will be featured on the CNBC program "American Greed."

Parish was sentenced to 24 years in federal prison in June for a wide-ranging investment scheme in which nearly 600 investors were bilked of about $66 million.

The "American Greed" website describes Parish as a "superthief." He was a financial wizard, local celebrity and regular guest on the local news. "A trusted expert of all things financial. Al Parish is a godsend ... but Parish is about to fall from grace."

The show can be seen on CNBC at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The CNBC website (cnbc.com) also offers video of some of the things Parish bought with investor money such as clown paintings, expensive jewelry and garden gnomes. And it has a slideshow titled "Economan: Superthief."

The show will also tell the story of investors who lost huge sums of money when they invested with Parish.
