The Post and Courier reported Tuesday that Mount Pleasant is considering putting an end to free roadside parking on Patriots Point Boulevard near Coleman Boulevard, which is where a lot of people who walk and run the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge park their cars. (Read the full article here .)

Town Adminstrator Mac Burdette suggested the change, saying that people could park at the new Memorial Waterfront Park when it opens on Memorial Day 2009 instead. As far as parking goes at the park, Burdette has suggested a $1 per hour fee, or an annual pass of about $20.

Neither issue -- parking roadside at Patriot's Point or parking fees at the park -- have been decided upon.
