A mother charged with felony driving under the influence resulting from an accident that killed her 27-year-old daughter was sentenced to one year of house arrest this week.
Michelle Robbins of Mount Pleasant died as a result of injuries she received in a three-vehicle wreck in West Ashley in March 2006.
Roxanne Robbins, 54, was sentenced by Circuit Judge Roger Young at the Charleston County Judicial Center.
Charleston County deputies said the younger Robbins was riding in a sport utility vehicle driven by her mother when it veered across the center line on St. Andrews Boulevard.
It slammed head-on into a van, spinning that vehicle into an SUV, deputies said.
