U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, whose primary election opponent is criticizing him for being too liberal, rolled out a radio ad this week that has President Bush bolstering his conservative credentials.

"I've had no stronger supporter in the United States Senate than Lindsey Graham for putting good judges on the bench," Bush says during the 60-second spot. "And Senator Graham, I'm proud to call you friend, and I believe the people of South Carolina benefit from your leadership as the senator from this important state."

The ad also cites praise that Graham has received from Citizens Against Government Waste and the Family Research Council as well as his commitment to U.S. troops in Iraq. Graham is expected to face Lexington orthodontist Buddy Witherspoon and other candidates in the Jan. 10 GOP primary.
