A driver was ejected from her car and seriously injured when a man wanted on warrants crashed his car into hers around 10 a.m.

North Charleston Police spotted Adrian Carey, 23, of North Charleston, driving a burgundy Honda Accord near Rivers and Columbia avenues around 10 a.m., police spokesman Spencer Pryor said. Carey is wanted on several pre-existing warrants, including for resisting arrest, Pryor said.

They chased his car down Meeting Street Road, on Dorchester Road, and then on I-26 westbound to the Montague Avenue exit.

He went east on Montague and hit a green Buick at the intersection of Mixson and Montague avenues. The driver of the Buick had the green light, Pryor said. She was ejected from her car and seriously injured; her name was not immediately available.

Carey tried to leave the Honda at the scene but was arrested, Pryor said.
