Architecture

Tyler Smyth and Martin Cizler have been promoted to studio manager at Christopher Rose Architects PA.

Smyth joined the firm in 2003 and previously was a project architect. He holds a master's degree in architecture from Clemson University and has experience in the construction trades.

Cizler joined the firm in 2005 as a project architect. He has more than 20 years of experience in design and construction administration of custom homes and renovation projects. He holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from the Catholic University of America.

Chris Troutman has joined the civil engineering department of Seamon Whiteside & Associates Inc. of Mount Pleasant. He holds a civil engineering degree from The Citadel.

Mathew D. Belt and Scott A. Hendrix have joined Cummings & McCrady Inc. , and Jerome R. English and Benjamin S. Whitener have been named principals.

Belt holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from Clemson University.

Hendrix holds bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from Savannah College of Art and Design.

English holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame.

Whitener holds a bachelor's degree in design from Clemson University and a master's degree in architecture from North Carolina State University.

Banking

Jessica R. Rader has joined South Carolina Federal Credit Union as manager of the contact center. Previously she was operations manager for OSI.

Aimee Glover has joined the Charleston office of Moultrie, Ga.-based Ameris Bank as mortgage sales manager. She has more than 15 years of experience in mortgage banking and previously was a mortgage loan counselor for Beazer Mortgage Corp. She is a graduate of Winthrop College.

Counseling

Ruth Dombrowski has joined the Lowcountry Pastoral Counseling Center as a therapist. She holds a master's degree in clinical social work and has counseling experience with mood disorders, stress and anger management, substance-use disorders, marital problems and emotional trauma. Previously she worked for Palmetto Behavioral Health Solutions. She will practice in downtown Charleston and North Charleston.

Karen R. Karpick has been named art therapist for Palmetto Behavioral Health System. She remains an assessment counselor and MET clinician part-time at Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health in North Charleston. She joined the company in 2006 and previously was a mental health counselor with Prison Health Services at the Gwinnett County Detention Center in Lawrenceville, Ga.; an art therapist at the Tallahassee Memorial Behavioral Health Center in Tallahassee, Fla.; and an art teacher at the LeMoyne Art Foundation, also in Tallahassee.

Engineering

Lee Harant has been promoted to MEP team leader at CRG Engineering Inc. He has worked for the company for nearly three years and has more than 26 years of mechanical engineering experience.

Events

Donna Boast has been promoted to managing director of A Party Hearty, a North Charleston-based balloon decor and delivery company. She joined the company last April.

Financial

Cory Lynch has joined Sequence Investment Partners LLC of Charleston as an associate and Anne Parker has been promoted to analyst.

Landscaping

Rebecca Wright and Josh Reeves have joined Southland Landscape Corp.

Wright is operations administrator for Midland operations. She is a student at Midlands Technical College and previously was a customer service representative for Allstate Insurance. Reeves is account manager for western South Carolina operations. Previously he worked for Dreamscape Landscaping in Spartanburg. He holds an associate's degree in horticulture from Spartanburg Community College.

Law

William P. Early has been named a partner at Pierce Herns Sloan & McLeod LLC. He holds a bachelor's degree from The Citadel and a J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He practices in personal injury, medical malpractice and toxic torts.

Nonprofit

Brooke Stegall and Chip Fell have joined the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, and Fran Johnson has been promoted.

Stegall is public policy/regional advancement coordinator. She holds a bachelor's degree in

English from the University of Mississippi. Previously she was federal affairs staff assistant for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America in Washington, D.C., and scheduler to U.S. Rep. John Sullivan of Oklahoma.

Fell is business development director. He holds a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Purdue University. Previously he was vice president of operations and part owner of a natural resources business for 22 years, a financial adviser for Smith Barney and worked for Systech. He is a Navy and Navy Reserve veteran.

Johnson is senior member-relations executive and membership director/hospitality. She joined the chamber about two years ago as a member-relations executive and has more than 15 years of experience in corporate relations/sales management in hospitality and corporate travel management. Previously she was a senior sales executive for Starwood Hotels, corporate account executive for World Travel Inc. and account executive for Sea Gate Travel Group LLC.

Performing arts

Megan Allison has been promoted to assistant concertmaster with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. She joined the CSO in 2005 as a section violinist. She holds a bachelor's degree from Victoria University in New Zealand and a master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory. Previously she performed with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the New Zealand Chamber Orchestra and the Wellington Sinfonietta.

Real estate

Patricia Garvin has rejoined Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. in the Metro North office on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. She has more than four years of experience. Previously she was a public school teacher for 21 years and owned and operated a dance school for eight years. She holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of South Carolina-Aiken.

Philip M. Owens has joined Caldwell Commercial Real Estate Service as a sales associate. He is a graduate of Wofford College and has experience in economic development and corporate recruiting. Previously he was senior vice president of business development for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and also worked for the Charleston Regional Development Alliance.

Sarah Coleman-Lee has joined the downtown Summerville office of AgentOwned Realty. She is an Air Force retiree.

Cheryll Woods-Flowers and Karen Abrams have joined Keller Williams Charleston-Mount Pleasant.

Previously Woods-Flowers worked for Prudential Carolina Real Estate. She is a former mayor of Mount Pleasant and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the College of Charleston.

Abrams has more than five years of experience in real estate and holds a bachelor's degree from Furman University.

Kathy Khalil has joined Elaine Brabham and Associates LLC of West Ashley. Previously she worked for First Realty of Charleston. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston.

Transportation

Joseph Dorsey, Jamie A. Damsker and Michael Staab have joined Safe Ports Inc.

Dorsey is vice president and chief technology officer. Previously he was chief technology officer of Westech Interactive Security, director of technical programs and services for L-3 Communications APCOM Inc. and manager of information technology for BAE Systems. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Capitol Institute of Technology, a master's degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University and a PSE from Carnegie-Mellon University.

Damsker is vice president of strategic planning and business development. Previously he was an associate with Booz Allen Hamilton in Charleston. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from The Citadel and is an Air Force veteran.

Staab is director of logistics technologies. Previously he was a solutions architect for SRA Spectrum Solutions Group and managed information strategy and client and communications resources for L-3 Communications APCOM Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in industrial and management engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Wholesale

Richard Pogue has joined Carolina Wine Source as Charleston wine sales representative. He has more than eight years of wine sales experience, most recently as sales representative and on-premises field sales manager for five years with Ben Arnold-Sunbelt. He attended the College of Charleston.
