Allison Nugent is the editor of Charleston Scene. She joined The Post and Courier staff in 2005 after graduating from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University with a degree in journalism and mass communications, emphasis in editing. She joined the staff as a newsroom clerk and earned a position as a nightside presentation editor and page designer less than a year later. In 2009, she was named South Carolina Copy Editor of the Year by the South Carolina Press Association. After five years on the nightside desk, where she also worked as wires editor, she was promoted to editor of the weekly entertainment publication.
