September 08, 2013 This is a Home and Real Estate front.Artist Jane Word on Folly Beach has a very unusual house. Everywhere you turn there is something she has made, reconstructed or reinvented. That includes the 12-foot lizard running up the chimney, outside.(Neighbor's call the homet the Lizard House, so pls. shoot the lizard.)The exterior is lush and beautiful, both in and outside of the gate. But it's the interior that is stunning. There are high-relief plaster images on the walls, artistically complex lamps, the painted floors, skim-coated counters, toilets enclosed in faux-finished wood, slats between wall studs for shoe storage, a curtain rod that looks like a live oak branch growing out of the walls, shutters filled with spagnum moss to grow succulents. Many of the doors were brought back from China and other items are from the many other countries she and her husband have visited. Story 35 inches. Box 4 inches.
