March 10, 2013 A billlion people in low-income countries don't have access to surgeons and other health care professionals, a situation that results in countless deaths and suffering. In the past, many Western doctors have tried to fill this void by going on medical missions. Doctors working with Madaktari Africa are taking a different approach by teaching others, and then teaching them to teach others.
