SEE AND BE SCENE: Fresh cigars by Lianos dos Palmas at Society 1858's Habanero Rhythm at the Gibbes Museum of Art, 2/8.

Society 1858, an auxiliary group of the Gibbes Museum of Art that is geared toward young professionals and the arts, held its Habanero Rhythm Party on Friday in celebration of the Gibbes exhibition “Vibrant Vision: The Collection of Jonathan Green and Richard Weedman.” The winter party at the museum was all about embracing the “energy of the dance movement that was brought to Cuba by Haitian refugees in the mid-19th century.” Local artist Green and his partner, Weedman, were the guests of honor at the event that featured Latin-inspired food from Moe’s Southwest Grill, traditional jazz standards and Latin-influenced world folk music by Leah Suarez as well as a performance by the Garage Cuban Band.
