Charleston County Park and Rec held their 11th annual Harvest Festival Saturday at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center on Johns Island. The family-friendly event, which centered on the tradition of giving thanks for the seasonís bountiful harvest, was all about feasting, music, fun and games. With bluegrass music from five local bands filling the air, kids kept entertained with hayrides, a stick pony corral, pumpkin decorating, penny diving, lasso demonstrations and crafts. New this year was the barbecue cook-off featuring local restaurants, which were vying for votes as those who sampled the offerings had the opportunity to vote for their favorite.
