SUMMERVILLE — Trouble continues for a pastor accused of snatching up four women and raping three of them since January 2010.
Dorchester County sheriff's deputies served four more warrants on Dale Richardson today, charging him with two counts each of criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping.
He was denied bond at a hearing Thursday afternoon.
Richardson, 46, of Myrtle Way in Summerville already is in jail without bail in connection with a July 27 kidnapping and rape in North Charleston and a June 21 incident in Summerville.
Investigators have been planning to charge Richardson with an Aug. 12, 2010, rape and kidnapping since last week. Maj. John Garrison said they recently found a third woman who said she was raped Jan. 5, 2010.
The woman told deputies she was hitchhiking on Rivers Avenue and Remount Road to get to a friend's house on Ashley Phosphate Road. A man in a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with an extended cab and tinted windows, who called himself 'Don,' took her to a location on Mallard Road in Summerville and sexually assaulted her, Garrison said.
The January incident falls into a similar pattern as the later cases, in which the women said they were picked up in the Ashley Phosphate Road area and raped on the grounds of Free Will Baptist Church in Ladson.
In both of those cases, the women told police they were prostitutes and that they were picked up in the Ashley Phosphate Road area. The women said their attacker pulled out a gun, put a bag over their heads, and drove them to a building where he raped them and then returned them to North Charleston, where he set them free in a wooded area.
Also, Summerville police have charged Richardson with kidnapping a prostitute on June 21. He is not charged with criminal sexual conduct in that case.
