DeVonte Holloman arrested and charged with DUI
South Carolina linebacker DeVonte Holloman was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to a police report.
Holloman was stopped as a part of a police checkpoint near Williams-Brice Stadium. He was arrested at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol records.
The report said he was transported to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where he was held until Saturday night.
A South Carolina official said late Saturday he could not confirm the report. He did remind media members that any player arrested is suspended from the team until the legal process is complete.
Holloman, a 20-year-old junior from Charlotte, is moving this season from strong safety to spur. Holloman started 10 of the team's 14 games last season, recording 66 tackles and an interception.
