Tickets for the South Carolina football team's season-opening game Sept. 3 against East Carolina will go on sale today at 10 a.m. There is a four-ticket purchase limit for the game, which will be played in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium. The kickoff time has not been determined.
Tickets are $60 each and may be purchased online at GamecocksOnline.com or by calling the South Carolina ticket office at (800) 472-3267. Tickets sold to the general public are located in the South Carolina section but are assigned from a different allotment than those sold to Gamecock Club members. July 1 is the deadline for Gamecock Club members to order away tickets and have their seats assigned by priority points. Orders received after the deadline will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Coach Chuck Driesell announced the addition of former Citadel standout guard Kevin Hammack as a graduate assistant for the 2011-12 season. Hammack replaces former director of basketball operations Justin Argenal, who accepted a position at Louisiana Tech.
Hammack played at The Citadel from 2002-07.
The 10th annual Man of the Sand half-rubber tournament will be held this weekend at Folly Beach. The tournament is a fundraiser for Camp Good Times, which benefits children with autism. The registration fee is $100 per team.
