Tenants who search out homes to rent likely do so for a number of reasons — they can be roomy, include a yard and are in peaceful settings.

Sometimes, there’s one less quantifiable feature that attracts renters to residences: the dwellings just feel like home.

That’s arguably the case at 789 Condon Drive, a ranch house with dock on James Island. The residence is available for $2,100 a month.

Dianna Clement-Ross of DCR Properties, who is handling the rental, says she is looking for a year’s lease. Although the time frame “is not set in granite,” she thinks the rental should be long-term since the property is more than simply an investment.

“This is someone’s home,” she says.

Moreover, 789 Condon Drive touts a host of alluring perks. Situated in the quiet Battery Point neighborhood, the three-bedroom house borders a tributary of James Island Creek.

“This home has a lot going for it,” Clement-Ross says.

The fully furnished house showcases two bathrooms, combination living-dining room, large eat-in kitchen and a two-car garage, she says.

Another benefit is the proximity of water. The residence backs up to a creek and sports scenic views, she says. A spacious screened-in porch off the kitchen overlooks James Island Creek and adjacent marsh, she says.

The house also sits in a prime location to get places in a short period of time, according to Clement-Ross. “It’s right off Harbor View Road,” she says. Downtown is five minutes away via the James Island expressway.

Clement-Ross says the property’s “home sweet home” appeal is its strongest feature. For instance, “It’s got a floating dock,” she says, “for when you get home from the hustle and bustle.”

The rental house is on the western ridge of Battery Point. Going south, take the expressway to the Harbor View Road exit. Turn right on Harbor View and cross James Island Creek. Make a right on North Shore Drive, which is the first street after the creek. Turn right on Condon Drive. Ahead is 789 Condon Drive.
