A witness told police a man who was fatally shot Thursday morning at a North Charleston apartment complex had been playing with a gun.
The Charleston County Coroner's Office did not release his name because the death was considered a suicide.
North Charleston police were called shortly after 11 a.m to S&K Apartments at 7360 Stall Road. The complex is near Ashley Phosphate Road. The man died at the scene from a gunshot wound, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.
A witness told police the man had been drinking all night and playing with his gun. The witness said this continued during the morning hours when at some point the witness heard a loud bang. The victim was found lying on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound.
