The Charleston Battery defeated the College of Charleston, 2-0, in an exhibition game on Sunday at Blackbaud Stadium.
The Battery got off to a quick start with a goal in only the third minute of play from midfielder Jarad van Schaik. van Schaik drilled home a shot high into the roof of the net from just inside the 18-yard box.
The Battery extended their advantage to 2-0 on Dean Kelly's rebound goal after a shot from former College of Charleston striker Luke Huggett.
The Charleston Battery takes on Coastal Carolina University on Wednesday at Blackbaud Stadium beginning at 5 p.m.
