Low Country Lighthouse Charter School, a public charter school that will open this fall, is accepting applications for 184 students in grades K-3.

The deadline to apply is April 18, and parents will be notified by May 2 whether their children have been accepted. A lottery will be held May 7, if necessary.

Low Country Lighthouse Charter is part of the South Carolina Public Charter School District, and it will be located in North Charleston.

The year-round school will offer foreign language to elementary students and have a strong focus on parent involvement.

The school will grow to eighth grade and is open to any South Carolina student.
